From the 12th century, the original Norman name means Chapel in the Forest. Today it is host to the St Thomas Becket Church and home to nearly ten thousand people.

Chapel en le Frith has a long history of successful industries. The Ferodo brake lining manufacturer has been around for over 100 years. It is now part of the Federal-Mogul group. Other local businesses include, Concept Life Sciences, Retogenix, Rochling Fibracon Ltd and Kelsa Truck Ltd.

Fans of Coronation Street may be interested to know that Neville Buswell (Ray Langton) was born in Chapel en le Frith in 1943. And Peter Kirk, born in 1840, founded the US city of Kirkland in Washington.

Located in the picturesque High Peak District of the UK, Chapel-en-le-Frith is a great place to live in or visit. It has the classic English charming stone cottages, stunning countryside, and warm community spirit. It’s the perfect retreat for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

Other areas we serve

Chapel Milton, is just a five minute drive from us. Whaley Bridge, is a bit further out at ten minutes, but still within easy reach.

In the opposite direction is Dove Holes. Again less than 10 minutes, it’s an easy trip to our centre. Chinley is also only ten minutes away. Ollersett whilst nearly ten miles away, is still under 20 minutes away. Newtown is about the same, as is Furness Vale, so pretty much anywhere you are in the area, we are easily accessible.
